As is the case with most sleep-deprived moms I appre­ci­ate a good cup of cof­fee, espe­cially from a cafe that caters to the folks I love best. We vis­ited Cuppa Giddy Up on our way to the Bluemont Fair last week­end, and even though the space is very small it is obvi­ous that the pro­pri­etors had fam­i­lies in mind. There were sin­gle cheese sticks for sale (rea­son­able priced I might ad) for those in need of a healthy snack, toys for the kids to play with, and a bas­ket full of books.

I was sold on the cater to kids bit alone, but before I even planned my kids I loved my dog, and Cuppa Giddy Up thought of her too. There was a dish of milk bones by the register.

Again, already twice sold and want­ing to sup­port this lit­tle place, but there’s more… before I even con­sid­ered adopt­ing a dog, I was pas­sion­ate about tak­ing care of this planet we share and Cuppa Giddy Up obvi­ously shares my val­ues, as their menu included organic and fair trade items — even the sugar was organic!

I’m in love. I may drive back to Middleburg just to get a cup of cof­fee one of these days. You should, too. Maybe you’ll find my kids and me read­ing a story on the couch.
