Jumping Jack Sports is a great place for sports-minded kids or kids who need to learn sports skills. We like Family Challenge Nights best. They have these about once a month (announced on their site). You reserve your space (5pm or 6pm) and prepay online. Then, your family goes and plays for 2-3 hours. You can have them arrange challenges within your family or put you up against another family with similar age kids. We mostly did a free-play w/ our kids in the gym.
They have several large inflatables, an obstacle course, a large rock wall, large hopping toys to race on, climbing nets, basketball hoops, an XRcade (video games w/ athletic component), etc. On family challenge nights you also get dinner from a local restaurant served in a party room at the gym. The owners were very nice and let us take our meal home because we had already eaten;). We have a kid w/ autism, and they were extremely good about accommodating his needs. Bathrooms and the whole facility were brand new and super clean. There were several quiet areas where we could take our autistic kid to calm down.
We have not done classes at JJS, but they seem to be specializing in sports skills and older kids more than other local sports places. Their site also says they have a Girls Sports class, which is an important niche that many gyms ignore. They also have open gym times, which are announced on their site, and there are classes for younger kids, which seem similar to My Gym or Little Gym. JJS has recently started offering Parent’s Night Out services.
If my older child was not in need of special services, I would be bringing him there every week for some sort of activity. The owners are so great! One time, I went there unannounced when they were not open and asked if my kids could just look around to get my autistic guy used to the place before we came for the Family Challenge. They brought us in and did a 15 minute tour of the gym and XRcade, even letting my son try it out.
Try JJS for the whole family. They are a great group of people and the facility is unique among those in Loudoun County. It’s not just another kid gym or large inflatables business.
