Today is the last day of the Loudoun County Fair and I have failed to visit once again. The fair seems to hit on a busy week for my family every year, but I plan to go and report back next year. In the meantime I am hoping some local families can fill us in via the website comments feature?

L-O-N-G line of traffic to get in to the fair on Thurs night…it was crazy busy so I’m guessing folks came from far and wide to attend! Maybe you and your family will make it next year
Note to self, go during the week, earlier in the day next year…less crowds=happier Mommy.
I purchased a weekly pass to the fair ($25 for one adult- the kids were free because they are so young). We went several times during the week, mainly to hang out at the petting zoo and walk through the barns of farm animals. There were lots of carnival rides for the young ones, but our son was too afraid to go on (he is even afraid of carousels). My friend took her two year old on a bunch though many other rides were restricted to older kiddos. The carnival midway doesn’t open until the evening, with Children’s Day (Thurs) being the exception.
There were also a number of performers to watch; Agricadabra and the Hansen Family Circus were the most notable.
The club dinners were good and were a decent bargain: the Beef Club dinner featured local roast beef on a bun (with optional BBQ sauce) with a giant baked potato and fixins, buttered green beans, a cookie, and lemonade or iced tea- all for $7.
I did NOT stay for the rodeo (held too close to my kids’ bedtime) but hear it was a lot of fun. I did see the ridiculous line of traffic trying to get in when I was leaving. I got there at 5:30pm that night and had NO line, and the rodeo started at 7pm, so as long as you get in at least an hour earlier than the start, you won’t have to sit in traffic. In fact, the rodeo traffic was the only traffic I saw all week.
All in all, a very good time.
