I came across your blog as I read about your blueberry picking adventure (I have been there last year and loved it). I live in Ashburn and had no idea about this playground! Thanks for sharing. My 14th month old girl will have a ball.

The preserve does offer a visit into mostly unspoiled natural habitat. There are numerous - well marked trails but navigating them can be confusing so print off a map from home before your departure b/c the office is not open every weekend. DO a thorough tick check before leaving and again when you get home, the ticks from Banshee Reeks are persistent little critters.

The one on Elden Street in Herndon (Fairfax County) closed as well. I am not sure about the one in the Dulles Town Center (it is still listed on their website but so is the one in Leesburg). I did enjoy the variety from Starbucks and the fact that a company was brave enough to counter the coffee giant; however, I guess it wasn't a successful attempt!
